Lockscreen Widgets v2.4.0 (Paid) APK

A (very) long time ago, Android introduced a feature to let you show certain widgets on the lock screen. For some reason, this useful feature was removed with the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop, confining widgets to the home screen only.

While some manufacturers like Samsung have brought back limited versions of lock screen widgets, but you are usually limited to widgets that the manufacturer has already created for you.

Well, no more! Lockscreen Widgets brings back the functionality of the past, with a few additional features.

– Lock screen widgets appear as a paginated “frame” above your lock screen.
– Add a widget by pressing the plus button in the frame. This plus button will always be the last page.
– Each widget you add has its own page.
– You can press, hold and drag a widget left or right to rearrange it.
– Tap the frame with two fingers to enter edit mode: you resize and move the frame, and delete the current widget here.
– Tap the frame with three fingers to temporarily hide it. It will reappear once the screen turns off and then turns back on.
– Any home screen widget can be added as a lock screen widget.

In the app, you can change some settings:

– You can make the widget frame background opaque if you want to overlay lock screen items.
– You can hide the widget frame when notifications show on the lock screen.
-And You can hide the widget frame when the notification shade is off. This probably won’t work on heavily customized skins like EMUI or MIUI.
– You can hide the widget frame when the security entry view is displayed (PIN / pattern / password / etc.). This probably won’t work on heavily customized skins like EMUI or MIUI.

And all this without ADB or root! All the necessary privileges can be granted without even thinking about using a computer.

When it comes to privileges, here are the most sensitive permissions that Lockscreen widgets need to function:

– Accessibility. In order to display on the lock screen, the Lockscreen Widgets accessibility service must be enabled. You will be prompted to enable it if necessary in the initial setup and each time you open the app.
– Notification listener. This permission is only required if you want the widget frame to hide when notifications are displayed. You will be prompted if necessary.
– Ignore Keyguard. In order to improve the user experience, Lockscreen Widgets will close the lock screen (or display the security entry view) when it detects activity being launched from a widget, or when you press on the “Add a widget” button. This will not compromise the security of your device in any way.

And that’s all. You do not believe me? Lockscreen Widgets is open source! The link is at the bottom.

Lockscreen Widgets only work on Android Lollipop 5.1 and later, as the system functionality required for viewing on the lock screen was not present in Lollipop 5.0. Sorry, 5.0 users.
